  • Broadband – the village is supplied with fibre to the cabinet broadband by via Openreach. All major providers are available. Full fibre to premises is not yet available. If you live outside of the covered area try GigaPeak
  • Post boxes – there is one at the junction with the now-closed road to Eyam at the southern end of the village, one in the centre of the village 50m south of the traffic lights, and one at the junction with the train station approach road.

  • Cash – the closest machine is in Bakewell. The community shop accepts payments with card but is not able to provide cash back. Cash can also be obtained from the post offices in Calver, Hathersage and Eyam.
  • Defibrellator – there are currently two in the village, one located on the side of the Sir William Hotel and a second on the side of the pavilion which is by the bridge.

  • Shops
    • The community shop in the village stocks mostly basics, small amounts of fresh fruit and veg, milk and bread.
    • Spar in Calver is a well stocked grocers verging on delicatessen. Won best Spar in the UK recently.
    • Bakewell has a CoOp and an Aldi whilst Sheffield has all major supermarkets and specialist shops.
  • Deliveries
    • Peak Pure will deliver local free range eggs.
    • Middleton’s Dairy will deliver local milk.
    • Grimsby Fish Van comes to the village at 13.30 sharp every Tuesday. He parks up at the Pavilion car park. Another calls at Commercial Road every Thursday 18.30/19.00 (Mike will take advance orders on 07720256654)
