Grindleford residents represented our community interests at a recent Peak Park Planning Committee meeting considering another application to turn Country Choice into a fast food take-away. Whilst there were minor changes to the previous application, sufficient to get past the Planning Officer regulations, the Committee voted unanimously to reject the application on the intolerable nuisance caused to local residents.
Planners often come in for criticism about their decisions but here is an example of how our democratic planning system works when local people mobilise to take action. 15 people registered to speak and made separate and telling points about the effects of this proposal.
