Thanks Becca!

You might have seen the letter below from Becca and Liz in the weekly playgroup newsletter. If not, it’s posted below. Please join us in a vote of thanks to Becca for everything she has done for the pre-school over her time with us – and hope that she can continue with us in some small way next year. Thank you Becca, we love you and the nursing profession is lucky to have you!

From Becca:

If you build it they will come! (Kevin Costner-field of dreams.)

After much heart searching and trying to juggle options, I have made a decision which means that I will sadly be leaving playgroup on Friday September 30th. I have the opportunity of returning to nursing, working with the St Luke’s palliative care team on Sheffield. It’s an opportunity I feel that I must take.

I know the staff team will continue to love and cherish you all and especially your children.

If possible I will still be around each week, but will just need to see if my shift pattern allows this.

New eyes are always good-so I look forward to seeing all that a new supervisor can bring to the special place which is- Grindleford and Eyam Playgroup.

But worry not. Just over three years ago we had less than five children in total and three staff members. Now we have around 40kids and 10staff. We built it and you came.

Thank you!

And from Liz:

Dear parent,

As you may have heard Becca is intending to reduce her hours at playgroup from October.

Therefore, there will need to be a new member of the team in September to help lead our flourishing pre-school.

We will be advertising over the next few weeks with a view to appointing a new Supervisor at the start of the Autumn term.

Becca will still be at pre-school at the start of the Autumn term helping our new supervisor settle in, and will be on hand to offer support and advice. During this time there may be some changes to how we staff some sessions, and we will keep you informed at all times.

From October we will work with Becca to identify opportunities for her to contribute as she finds out about her new shift patterns; Becca’s enthusiasm and expertise will always be valued.

We are pleased that Becca will have the opportunity to mentor our new supervisor and believe that this transition period will offer continuity to our children and their families.

We look forward to this next stage in our pre-school’s journey and anticipate our pre-school going from strength to strength.

If you would like to take part in planning our future, why not join our management committee, new members are always welcome. Please speak to Becca, myself or one of our current committee members (see list below) to find out more.

Enjoy the Summer and we look forward to seeing you in September.
