Man jailed for three years for burglaries in Grindleford.

Darren Maltby (35) ofHouldsworth Crescent, Bolsover appeared at Derby Crown Court on Wednesday, November 28 and was sentenced to three years in prison after pleading guilty to two dwelling burglaries.

Between Friday, July 27 at 10.30pm and Saturday, July 28 at 8.15am Maltby admitted to breaking into a house in Grindleford where he stole a Motorola mobile phone.

On the same dates between 11pm and 6.30am another house in Grindleford was broken into and two mobile phones, cash and a wrist watch was stolen.

Insp Bryan Hall who is in charge of policing in the Derbyshire Dales said: “Hopefully this conviction will send out a strong message to burglars in the area that this type of crime will be investigated thoroughly and can carry hefty sentences.”
