Sunday 6th Jan 10.30am-1.00pm
Meeting at the pavilion car park 10.15am
Join us for a hands-on session preparing our National Trust woodland site for the pre-school’s Forest School starting in the new year, and work off some of that Christmas excess! Over the course of the morning, which will be led by our Forest School leader and the Longshaw Estate staff, you’ll be given the opportunity to hone your forestry skills whilst you help us with path clearing, cutting back and light tree felling. It’s the perfect excuse to grab a spot of fresh air over the Christmas holiday and have fun with other volunteers in our beautiful local woodland, so why not come along.
You will need to dress appropriately for the weather and the work. Heavy boots and working gloves along with warm and thoroughly waterproof clothes. If you have secateurs, loppers, bill hooks, bowsaws etc please bring these along, but remember we will be walking for 10 minutes to the site. Children are welcome under close supervision from an adult.
We’ll hopefully be lighting a fire and providing a brew, but please bring flasks of hot drinks and snacks for yourself as well.
If you would like to help then let us know you’re coming by calling Jane on 07786574676.
